Size / Care Instructions
How to care for the transfer and the garment.
A transfer can typically withstand 50 to 100 washes before showing significant signs of fading or cracking with longevity, depending heavily on proper care to maximize washability. Wash the garment inside out in cold water on a gentle cycle, use mild detergent and dry on the lowest heat setting or air dry. Handle with care to ensure that both the garment and the transfer last as long as possible and the print quality is preserved.
Want your transfers to last this long? Take a look at our washing instructions below for a step by step on how you can properly wash and care for your design and garments.
Washing Machine Instructions
- Turn inside out: This step protects the design from friction and abrasion during the wash cycle.
- Use cold water: Hot water can shrink the fabric and cause colours to fade or the print to degrade.
- Select a gentle cycle: Avoid heavy-duty cycles or aggressive settings, which can stress the fabric and design.
- Use mild detergent: Opt for a gentle detergent, but avoid any with bleach or harsh chemicals that can harm the design.
- Skip fabric softeners: Fabric softeners can leave a residue that affects the adhesion.
- Separate colours: Wash with similar coloured items to prevent colour bleeding and maintain vibrancy.
- Do not overcrowd the machine: Allow the garment space to move freely to reduce friction.
Drying Instructions
- Air dry: Hang-drying is the gentlest option to preserve the design.
- Use low-heat tumble dry: If using a dryer, select the lowest heat setting. High heat can damage the fabric and graphics.
General Care
- Do not dry clean: Dry cleaning chemicals can damage the print.
- Iron with caution: If ironing is necessary, do it with the garment inside out or place a pressing cloth over the design
